College students love their spring breaks and the norm is probably to hit the famous beaches of places like Florida, California and Mexico. But there are different places that might be just as fun as the over crowding of the get away beaches. For instance a Las Vegas spring break for college students just might be the ticket.

The city of glitz welcomes college students to Las Vegas during spring break, but with a small warning. Even though gambling and alcohol are truly big things that probably go hand in hand in Vegas, the law takes it very serious when minor are caught drinking and gambling. Should you be under age, remember that you will need to find something else to spend you time on in Vegas. But do not despair, Vegas offers far more than just gambling and drinking. In fact there are so many things to see and do that it would be difficult to cover it all in one sitting.

If you begin strolling down the Strip you will notice all the different themed hotels that immediately catch your eye. All of them vying for your attention and all of them worth taking a look at, even if you are not staying there. Take a stroll or gondola ride down the Venice Grand Canal. Experience ancient Egypt at another hotel. Or you can take a quick trip to Paris and enjoy the French atmosphere.

It would probably take you almost a week to be able to see all of the hotels and the different things they have to offer you for your enjoyment. Like the Mirage which is an actual island oasis found right in the middle of the desert. Equipped with waterfalls and volcano right in the lobby and you wouldn’t want to miss their mini rain forest that you can walk through. And they are also host to the ever famous white tigers of Seigfreid and Roy.

No matter what you are in the mood for, variety shows, stand up comedy, concerts, you name it, Vegas has everything for every tourist. One of the longest running shows that is always a must see is the Folies Bergere. This show has been open the longest in Vegas history.

Should you be a sports fan or someone who loves a good concert then you might want to consider visiting the grandeur of the MGM Grand that offers an array of sporting events and concerts during Spring Break.

If the Middle Ages is something that intrigues you, then you won’t want to miss out on what Excalibur has to offer. Every night they put on jousting shows during their dinner hours called the Tournament of Kings. A must for those who love the ambiance of honor, chastity and gallantry of those long ago days of the medieval days.

If pirates are more up your alley, then you will not want to miss out on the various pirate shows that are offered by the Treasure Island hotel. These shows of pirates and pirate ships battling it out are free and you do not even have to be at the hotel to enjoy them. The are done in such a manner that people standing on the Vegas Strip can watch and enjoy them.

There are 20 impressive hotels that line the Las Vegas Strip and 18 of them happen to be the largest hotels in the United States. Each one of them in competition with one another trying their best to out do their competition to lure more tourists their way than their competitors way. So there will always be something new and exciting going on somewhere.

Be warned though that a Las Vegas spring break for college students will not come cheap so it would be wise to book the cheapest flight and take advantage of the great mid-week specials that the hotels offer, or you could just consider staying in one of the less expensive hotels or motels..

Career Planning for College Students and Recent College Graduates

How would you like to achieve more success at work in a faster amount of time than anyone with whom you graduate?

It’s really quite simple. Have a plan. Have a career plan.

So many people approach the job search as a “somebody take me please” endeavor as opposed to planning their job search, focusing on the employers where you want to work and setting goals and deadlines for career achievements. Most people just happen along with no focus, goals or deadlines at all.

Life just happens. Jobs just happen.

The reason for making decisions today about where you want to be tomorrow is so that you have the ability to actually get there.

If you don’t know exactly where you want to be, you will be wandering aimlessly from position to position hoping that somehow it will all work out. Unfortunately, that isn’t how it works.

When you left for college, you probably spent a lot of time figuring out where you wanted to go, applied to the school(s), then when you were accepted, you formulated a plan to enroll in classes, find a place to live and budget your finances so that you could afford to eat and buy necessities.

If you applied that same amount of time and effort into setting out a career plan and the goals involved in achieving professional success, you would be much more successful and you’d blow past your competition easily. No one in your graduating class at college would even come close to achieving what you would achieve.

Plan to achieve. Plan to succeed.

The great news is that Career Planning isn’t some magical experience. Just give yourself a little time and ask yourself a few questions and you’ll be on the right track.

What questions?

How about some of those familiar job questions, such as “Where do you want to be five years from now?” Or, “Do you expect to go back to school to further your education?”

As you have more time in the months and years to come, revisit your Career Plan and determine if it still makes sense for you or if you need to tweak it.

You are the only one who can create your destiny. You choose.

Take the time NOW to set the course for your future.

If you take the time to set your career goals, you will be ahead of 90% of the rest of the people out there who don’t bother to plan ahead. You will be more successful than your peers in the same field because you know where you are going and how you intend to get there. You will make more money and you will be much happier. Why? Because you didn’t wait for destiny to step in. You took control of your life and made things happen.
