New Era Hat, Far More Than Hats

We have seen so many hip-hop, R&B super stars and trendsetters always wear monster energy hats no matter where they are. We have also seen many famous brands worked jointly with New Era to bring out cooperation styles. This is more than a hat.

The hat company E Koch Cap Co. was started in 1920 by Ehrhardt Koch in New York, with only 14 other employees working for him. The name of company was officially changed to New Era in 1922. In 1932, the company designs their first version of a baseball cap, later they had an exclusive license to start specifically design for Cleveland Indians professional baseball team hat. This is their first specifically design for their team. By 1940s, New Era had become a company dedicated hats to a few professional baseball teams.

Immediately, it brought out fierce competition with Wilson, Spalding, Rawlings and other brands. In the late 1940s, New Era mainly manufactured caps that wearers can change its size. Until 1954, they redesigned their caps’ appearance and color with Brooklyn style and then named it 59 Fifty. By 1965,nfl hats has provided 10 major league baseball teams the team caps. In 1969, New Era to design the unique “full closure” cap. In 1974, New Era exclusively for 20 to 24 teams of Major League Baseball team cap. In the early eighties of the twentieth century, New Era is not only able to provide 23 teams of Major League Baseball team cap, but also received a large number of orders from the schools, the local businesses, the international baseball teams, golf teams

In 1986, New Era marketed one cap (named MLB Diamond Collection) for USA professional baseball alliance teams, and such caps could also sell to the public. Such act has achieved great success. At that time it was a fashion tendency that New Era caps can match with different clothing. In 1993, The main competitor was completely defeated by New Era Hats, and New Era got the certificate of exclusively manufactory from Major League Baseball.

Spike Lee (the renowned black director in USA) had directed a film in 1996, and he asked New Era to design one cap with red color and white words of New York Yankees, which made New Era knew by the people in the world. New Era hat could be seen everywhere, on adults and children, men and women, the old and the young and in all fields in America.

In 2006, the New Era Cap Company moved its headquarters from suburban Buffalo to downtown area. In the same year in May, its first flagship store in the SOHO district of New York City opened, in November of the same year, it opened a second flagship store In March of 2007, New Era was not only strict in design and brave in making innovations. About the material of hat, the company adopted the 100% terylene with good performance as the raw material based on the 100% pure wool. And this marked the first important change after 20 tears of traditional hat craft. In the spring of 2007, The third flagship store was opened in London. On August of same year, Their flagship stores were opened one by one in Toronto, Queen Street, Atlanta, Berlin, Birmingham, Japan, Korea and so on.

Since New Era Hats had appeared in the film of the famous black director Spike Lee in 1996, New Era was not only a commodity thorough people’s lives, but also represented a culture and a great trend.

New Era Hats, Not Just Hats

We have seen so many hip-hop, R&B superstar and pioneer wearing monster energy hats in any occasion. (can be translated into New Era Cap, New Era Caps, New Era Hat, New Era Hats, the following is similar.) We can also see that numerous international famous brands are in cooperation with New Era brand to launch joint products. New Era not only merely represents a hat brand.

In 1920 in Buffalo, New York, Ehrhardt Koch formally established a hat company, E Koch Cap Co., with only 14 employees. In 1922, the company officially changed its name to New Era companies. In 1932, the company designed its first baseball cap version. Later, the company was exclusively franchised to supply caps for Cleveland Indians’ professional baseball team, which was the first baseball team that the company exclusively supplied caps for.

Till 1940s, New Era has been supplying caps for multi-professional baseball teams. Following which they competed keenly with Wilson, Spalding, Rawlings Brands etc. Until the end of 1940s, New Era mainly focused on producing hats with the device that can adjusts size. About in 1954, they mixed their style with Brooklyn style to redesign the appearance and color matching of the hat and changed name of this series to 5 In 1965, nfl hats had supplied hats to ten major league baseball teams. In 1986, New Era launched a style of hat named MLB Diamond Collection to American Major League Baseball Teams, also selling to the public. This was very successful and it even became a fashionable trend at that time to match whatever clothes with New Era hat. In 1993, New Era Hats completely defeated its then major rivals and got the exclusively supplying license granted by American MLB.

Famous black American director Spike Lee personally required New Era to design a red team cap with white font of New York Yankees when he directed a film in 1996, which made New Era become famous in that time. New Era hat could be seen everywhere, on adults and children, men and women, the old and the young and in all fields in America.

In 2006, New Era Cap Company moved its headquarters from Buffalo’s suburbs to downtown area. In the same year, in May the first flagship store was opened in the SOHO district of New York City, in November the second flagship store was opened in the New Er March 2007 New Era was not only strict for design, and was able to innovate.
